UK-based group will provide detailed engineering on upgrade and modification projects

UK-based Penspen has won a contract to provide detailed engineering services for the modification and upgrade of oil terminals and depots across the UAE.

The contract was awarded by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) subsidiary, Adnoc Distribution, and involves work on Al-Ain Zakher Terminal, Mussafah Multi-Product Depot, Madinat Zayed (Beda Zayed) Depot, Dhow Harbour Depot and Saneyah Plot in AI-Ain.

The terminals are Adnoc Distribution’s main downstream facilities and store petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Adnoc Distribution plans to upgrade and modify the terminals to meet increasing demand for fuel products in the UAE.

Penspen’s services will cover design and detailed engineering and the company will work together with other contractors to ensure completion of the entire project scope. This includes taking an active role in studies, reports, analysis, engineering, detailed design, system integration, documentation, calculations and engineering support, the company said.

In March, Penspen was awarded the project management consultancy (PMC) contract for work on the offshore oil and gas hub of Das Island in Abu Dhabi.
