Omani producer targets 1.1 million barrels of oil equivalent a day
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has set a production target of 1.1 million barrels of oil equivalent a day (boe/d) in 2011.
In 2010 PDO exceeded 1 million boe/d and the company now expects to maintain 1.1 million boe/d for the next three years before raising it further still to 1.2 million boe/d.
PDO’s managing director Raoul Restucci told the Muscat Daily that the company produces around 500,000 barrels-a-day (b/d) of oil and 100,000 b/d of condensates with the rest being made up of natural gas and liquid petroleum gases.
In 2010 PDO had a daily oil production of 553,000 b/d with a new discovery at Qarn Alam likely to contribute 40,000 b/d in 2011.
