Applications for prequalification were submitted on 11 July from 15 companies for the contract to build the Wadi Dayqah dam and associated water supply system, calling for the construction of a main dam, an earthfill saddle dam, a water supply network covering Muscat and Quriyat, two pumping stations, two storage tanks, two substations and a water treatment works. Total project costs are estimated at RO 50 million-60 million ($128 million-154 million). A team of the US' Black & Veatch, Pakistan's Nespakand the local Al-Manarah Engineering Consultancyis advising the client, the Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment & Water Resources (MEED 10:6:05).
