Private jet-sharing firm Jetsmarter has begun offering its members single-seat trips on flights between Dubai and London, the company said in a statement on 23 November.

The Dubai to London flight, which will carry passengers on Embraer Legacy 650 aircrafts, departs from Dubai on Thursdays at 8:30pm, and flights from London to Dubai will be on Fridays at 12pm.

Flights from Dubai originate at Al-Maktoum International while inbound flights originate at London Luton airport.

Travel time on the private jet is between seven and eight hours, similar to a commercial flight, although the door-to-door service including transport pick-up on the tarmac of the destination airport eliminates the extra two-hours that are usually spent by passengers in check-in queues, customs clearance or baggage claims, among others.

Jetsmarter said they already have a large membership base in Dubai availing their intercontinental services that connects North America, Europe and Asia, and that the new route seeks to address a rising demand.

Similar to Uber for land transportation, reservations can be made on the Jetsmarter app, which is available to members with iOS and Android devices.

It is understood that Jetsmarter charges members an annual fee of $11,000, in addition to an initiation fee of $4,000.
