19 November 2004
Plans to build what will be the highest building in Doha have taken another step forward with the selection of the US' Hill Internationalto act as project manager, on the Dubai Tower project in the West Bay area. Hill joins the UK's RMJM, which was appointed in the second quarter as lead consultant on the 300-metre-high building.

With designs complete on the estimated $150 million-200 million development, the project is expected to move ahead swiftly. The piling package is already out to tender among contractors. The main works packages will take just over 24 months.

The 75-storey building will comprise a podium to house retail outlets, restaurants and leisure facilities, above which will be almost 20 floors of offices. The remaining floors will house over 500 apartments.

The client is a Dubai-based investor (MEED 6:8:04).
