Qatar issues Dukhan engineering tender

10 June 2008
Qatar Petroleum (QP) has issued a procurement and engineering tender covering its onshore Dukhan field, as part of an upgrade of existing facilities.

The work includes engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning to upgrade a production plant. The work will include having to shut down the plant for short periods.

The closing date for bids is 20 July, with work is scheduled to start by the end of this year.

Qatar is striving to increase oil production to 1.1 million barrels-a-day (b/d) by 2010, from the 900,000 b/d (MEED 30:5:08).

Dukhan, one of the oldest fields in the state, is producing around 330,000 b/d and a enhanced oil recovery scheme is underway at the field to lift output to 350,000 b/d over the next few years.
