Construction started in the first quarter of 2009
The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has said the first phase of its QR763m ($209.6m) submarine power cable project is to be completed in April next year linking Ras Abu Aboud super substation with West Bay super 2 substation, the Peninsula has reported. Italy’s Prysmian Cables was awarded the main construction contract in the fourth quarter of 2008. Construction started in the first quarter of 2009.
