Local developer Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company has invited local and international contractors to bid by 14 January for the infrastructure construction package at the Lusail development, north of Doha.
The contract covers road works, drainage, sewerage and all associated infrastructure.
Covering an area of 35 square kilometres, Lusail will include residential, retail and commercial centres, as well as hotels capable of accommodating more than 170,000 people.
China’s Sinohydro was awarded a $440 million contract in 2006 covering the initial marine, earthworks and site preparation.
