Buzwair plant to supply Sun Metals’ proposed steel mill
Qatar-based Buzwair Group is preparing to start work on an industrial gases separation plant in Sur, northern Oman, to feed a new steel mill project and the domestic market.
Subsidiary, Buzwair Industrial Gases Corporation, is planning to build a cryogenic air separation plant with a capacity to produce 60 tonnes a day (t/d) of gaseous oxygen and 70 t/d of liquid oxygen, nitrogen and liquid argon, according to the Oman Daily Observer.
The plant will supply the 1.2 million tonne-a-year steel mill being planned by Indian-based investors Sun Metals on the same site in Sur, Ash Sharqiyah.
