
A key person overseeing the UAE’s financial exchanges
Rashed al-Baloushi

Position: Deputy chief executive and director of operations
Biography Rashed al-Baloushi joined ADX in April 2000 and played a key role in the launch of the bourse in November that year.
Today, it is the largest exchange in the UAE, with a market capitalisation of about $86bn. Al-Baloushi previously served as director of the clearing, settlement, depository & registry department before being promoted to acting director general in January 2006.
He was appointed to his current position in September 2007, and is leading the exchange until a new CEO is appointed.
Prior to joining ADX, Al-Baloushi was head of registrar & depository at the Abu Dhabi Free-zone Authority from September 2007. He has a master’s degree in business administration from UAE University and a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Benedict College in the US.
