Official mourning period begins
Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad al-Qassimi, the ruler of Ras al-Khaimah in the UAE, has died. An official mourning period has been declared by the government, starting Wednesday 27 October and lasting a week. Flags will be flown at half mast.
