Biography: As head of emerging markets at Adia, Saeed Mubarak al-Hajeri has more than 15 years’ experience in international finance. Previously, he served as chairman of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, vice-chairman of Abu Dhabi-based investment company Invest AD and a member of the board of governors at US-based CFA Institute.
As part of the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund with assets of more than $627bn, the emerging markets division is one of the biggest asset class units at Adia, along with the low-risk government bonds. Both are typically allocated between 10 and 20 per cent of the fund’s assets.
Al-Hajeri is a chartered financial analyst. He attended the executive education programme at Harvard University in the US. He also has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lewis and Clark College in the US.
