- US firm awarded consultancy contract
- Saudi Arabia presses ahead with redevelopment of major cities
US-based Hill International has been awarded two contracts to provide programme management consultancy services for the Living Communities Programme in Saudi Arabia.
The deals, worth a total of $6m, were awarded by the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon).
The work involves providing programme management, project management, construction management, construction claims and other consulting services relating to the buildings, transportation, environmental, energy and industrial aspects of the project.
The Living Communities Programme is a $270m scheme designed to support industrial cities around the kingdom by developing healthcare, education, commercial and social schemes. The first phase includes residential communities in the cities of Jeddah, Dammam, Sudair, Al-Kharj, Medina and Hail.
One of the main features of the real estate market in Saudi Arabia will continue to be the large-scale redevelopment of existing city centres, often under the responsibility of the government in partnership with the public sector.
