05 March 2013

Contractors have until 1 May to submit bids for construction and infrastructure works

The Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu has invited contractors to submit bids for the contract to build infrastructure and buildings for the defence force at its Jubail Industrial City.

Contractors have until the 1 May to submit bids for the project.

The work will involve constructing buildings and secondary infrastructure for the second battalion at the Marines base in Jubail. The infrastructure work will involve building roads, grading, storm drainage, potable water distribution and sanitary wastewater irrigation system. It will also include the provision of electrical power distribution.

This is the latest of a number of construction and infrastructure contracts that the Royal Commission has tendered for its Jubail Industrial City development in recent months.

In January, the commission invited companies to submit bids for the contract to build a labour camp at its Jubail development. Contractors have until 27 March to submit bids for the tender. The labour camp will have an initial capacity of 7,536 people and will cover an approximate area of 200,000 square metres. The contract will also include providing secondary infrastructure to link up with the existing infrastructure at the site.
