Contractors to submit bids for substation and power transmission line packages

Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has invited bids to construct substations at Yanbu and power transmission lines between Yanbu and Madinah. The work is divided into two packages.

The first package is for the design, supply and construction of substations of capacity 380/110kV, 380/13.8kV and 110/13.8kV.

The second package is for the design, supply and construction of a 380kV transmission line between Yanbu and Musayjeed along with associated 380kV lines. The line will have a length of 86 kilometres. The package also includes the design, supply and construction of a 110kV transmission line between Madinah East and the substation. The distance is roughly 55 kilometres.

Contractors have until 24 December to submit bids for both packages. Bids will be opened on 25 December. The work is to be completed within two years from the date of handover.
