Yasref complex in Yanbu continues to ramp up production to full capacity

The Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (Yasref) has made its first shipment of petroleum coke (petcoke) as it continues to ramp up production as part of the ongoing commissioning process.

Yasref processes heavier crude grades which makes petcoke production a viable product. The complex is ramping up production and will reach its 400,000 barrels a day capacity by mid-2015.

The company is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and China’s Sinopec.
