Indian engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has said its subsidiary L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) has been awarded a contract by Saudi Aramco to build three offshore gas production deck modules.
This is the fourth Aramco offshore contract won by the consortium of LTHE and Subsea 7. Three offshore contracts are currently under execution by the consortium under their Long Term Agreement (LTA).
The scope of work for the latest contract includes engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation and commissioning of three gas production decks, with high integrity protection systems and material that will protect the structures for a minimum 50 years.
Two of the decks will be installed in Hasbah and one in the Arabiyah field of Saudi Aramco.
The value of the contract has been withheld. LTHE owns three fabrication yards in India, and this work will be carried out at its facility at Hazira in the western state of Gujarat.
