Raif Badawi, accused of insulting Islam, referred to lower court
A court in Saudi Arabia has refused to charge liberal blogger Raif Badawi, who was arrested in May last year under accusations of insulting Islam and causing disobedience.
Badawi could have been sentenced to death if found guilty of apostasy, but he was referred to a lower court, according to BBC News.
Badawi is the co-founder of the Saudi Liberal Network website and has called for more open discussion about social and religious issues.
