Locals win SR220m contracts
Saudi Electricity Company awarded two contracts for projects worth nearly SR220m ($59m) in early September.
The local Deem Company for Contracting won a contract to connect the 380/110kV Mecca West substation with the power grid. It is due to complete work on the SR103.3m project in October 2011. The local Al-Fanar Construction is the contractor on 380kV Mecca West substation project, which is worth SR444m. Saudi Electricity warded the contract to Al-Fanar in January (MEED 5:1:09).
A second company, identified as Advanced Energy for Trading & Contracting, won a SR115m to build the new Badr 110/33/13.8kV substation and connect it to the grid. The company is scheduled to finish its work in October 2011.
