Saudi industrial zone work will involve building potable water and sewage infrastructure
The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities (Modon) has signed three contracts worth a total of $88m for water supply and sanitation facilities at its industrial zones.
The largest contract, worth $48m, was awarded to the Saudi Pan Kingdom Company (SAPAC) to improve sanitation and wastewater infrastructure in Sidir Industrial City. The work will involve building potable water, sewage and wastewater pipelines and networks. The project will take two years to complete.
Modon also awarded a $34m contract to Dongho Korean Saudi to provide potable water to the industrial cities in Dammam, Sidir and Al-Khar. The project will involve drilling wells and building desalination plants, each with a capacity of 6,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d). The contract will also involve the construction of three reservoirs, each with a capacity of 5,000 cubic metres.
The industrial authority also signed a $6m contract with the local Saudi Tambine Company to provide sanitation facilities for the Riyadh 2 Industrial City. The local firm will build 5 kilometres of sewage pipelines.
