
New facility at Jubail complex has capacity of 50,000 tonnes a year
Saudi Kayan has started commercial production of its natural detergent alcohols plant at its complex at Jubail in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
The unit has a capacity of 50,000 tonnes a year (t/y) and was constructed by Chinas Sinopec. Commissioning started in 2014 although the facility was initially scheduled to be operational by 2013.
Saudi Kayan is an affiliate of petrochemicals giant the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic).
