President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan on 6 October held talks with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder in the UAE. The German leader is in the emirates to discuss the current situation in Iraq and to hold talks on future economic co-operation.
While in the UAE, Schroeder will turn on a new water well system in the western region of Abu Dhabi. The well is one of 255 that have been drilled, tested and completed by German consortium Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and Daimler Chrysler Aerospace - Dornier System Consult (DASA), in conjunction with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC - MEED 5:5:00).
