Biography: Sheikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij al-Khalifa is chairman of Bahrain’s ASRY. He is also chairman of Bahrain’s General Organisation of Sea Ports and a board member of United Arab Shipping Corporation.

From 1992 until 2006, he worked as assistant undersecretary for foreign trade at Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry & Commerce, and then as head of foreign trade. From March 2006 to June 2008, he was president of customs at the Finance Ministry. In June 2008, he became the ministry’s undersecretary for ports affairs.

Sheikh Daij is also chairman of Bahrain Airport Company. Previously, he was chairman of the board of the GCC Patent Office and board member of both King Fahd Causeway Authority and Aluminium Bahrain.

Sheikh Daij graduated in 1991, with a degree in international business from the American University in the US.
