Biography: Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al-Missned chairs the Qatar Foundation, the driving force behind the bid to turn Qatar into a hub for research.
She is also president of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, a government institution that aims to strengthen the role of the family in society, and vice-chair of the Supreme Education Council, which is overseeing the reform of Qatar’s education system.
In addition, she chairs the project team that is building the Sidra Medical & Research Centre, which is due to open in 2012 at Education City. Sheikha Mozah graduated from Qatar University in 1986 with a degree in sociology.
