JGC Corporation completes $1.3bn project in Algeria

Algerian state-owned oil company Sonatrach has commissioned the Gassi Touil gas treatment plant in the Ouargal Province.

The plant has a processing capacity of about 423 million standard cubic feet a day and cost $1.3bn to build. The gas will come from a total of 52 wells at the Gassi Touil field although only 44 are currently complete.

Japan’s JGC Corporation was the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the scheme after being awarded the contract in 2009.
