Sorouh awards Abu Dhabi development to Orascom

Sorouh Real Estate, a UAE developer, has awarded the infrastructure construction works for the AED3.5bn ($953m) Saraya development to the local affiliate of Egypt’s Orascom Construction Industries.

The contract involves building road networks, utilities and landscaping.

The Saraya development covers an area of 125,000 square metres and includes 28 mid and high-rise residential and commercial towers, a hotel and serviced apartments.

The towers will be constructed over two phases, the first being completed in 2010 and the second in 2013.

Australia’s PTW Architects is the consultant (MEED 28:9:07).
