UK company to carry out platform extension and tie-in on Taurus and Libra fields
London-based Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract by Burullus Gas Company to install facilities on the West Nile Delta gas field development in Egypt.
The engineering and project management contract covers the platform extension and tie-in on the first phase of the Taurus and Libra fields by BP. The deal is valued between $50m and $100m.
The work will be undertaken by Subsea 7s offices in Cairo and London, while fabrication of the deck extension and spools will be carried out at the Petrojet Maadia yard in Alexandria.
Subsea 7 said that the offshore work is scheduled to start in the second half of 2016.
BPs Taurus-Libra gas field scheme is the first field development project in the West Nile Delta area and will be linked to existing offshore infrastructure that forms part of Burullus Gas Companys West Delta Deep Marine development, which is part of an agreement signed in March 2015.
Burullus Gas Company is a joint venture of BG Group, Petronas and Egypts Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company.
