Consultant has been appointed for a number of major power and water projects in the Middle East and North Africa

The US/Indian Synergy Consulting Infrastructure & Financial Advisory has opened an office in Dubai, its first office in the Middle East.

The group has opened the office in the JLT area of Dubai as a result of its increasing portfolio of work in the Middle East and North Africa.

Synergy believes the rising potential for public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the region will provide increasing demand for advisory services.

“We expect to be able to reach out to much wider client base in our government procurement advisory practice through our regional office,” says Chetan Kapoor, director, Synergy.

Synergy has been appointed for a number of major projects in Saudi Arabia in recent months. This includes its appointment as lead and financial adviser to state utility provider Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for a planned 250,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) plant at Shuaiba. The firm is also advising SWCC on the first planned solar-powered desalination plant at Al-Khafji.
