Government says 120 of its security personnel were killed in Jisr al-Shughour

The Syrian government has said it will act ‘’with force’’ to restore control in the northern town of Jisr al-Shughour.

The government said that it would take action in response to the killing of 120 of its security personnel in the northern town.

Syrian state TV reported on 6 June that “armed gangs” ambushed police and attacked the town’s security headquarters, killing 120 people in total.

“We will deal strongly and decisively, and according to the law, and we will not be silent about any armed attack that targets the security of the state and its citizens,” said Syria’s Interior Minister Ibrahim Shaar.
