Taameer Jordan plans $2bn tourist project in Aqaba

Taameer Jordan Holdings has unveiled a JD1.5bn ($2.12bn) project to redevelop the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and build a new tourist resort on the site.

The new development is to be built in Al-Yamaniah and will be called Mansion Hills.

Built across 3 million square metres, the site will include residential compounds, hotels, shops and theme parks and a range of other leisure facilities.

Imad Fakhoury, chief executive officer of the Aqaba Development Corporation says that a full masterplan has been completed for the Yamaniah area to attract new investments. As well as the Mansion Hills project, the scheme will include other family and student accommodation, and a media city.
