Companies asked to submit documents by 7 June for construction of Oman project
Takamul Investment Company has invited companies to prequalify to bid on the construction its planned ammonia plant in Salalah, southern Oman.
The Omani state-owned company set a deadline of 7 June for interested companies to submit the required prequalification documents. The group will then tender the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract later in 2014.
The proposed 1,000 tonnes a day (t/d) ammonia plant will use feedstock from the nearby methanol plant operated by Salalah Methanol Company, in which Takamul has a 10 per cent stake.
Ammonia is largely used to produce nitrogen-based fertilisers, cleaning chemicals and for fermentation.
