Biography: Talal al-Dhiyebi is the director of planning and infrastructure for Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties.

Aldar is currently undertaking the redevelopment of the central market area in Abu Dhabi, where the old souk was razed by fire in 2002. Al-

Dhiyebi joined Aldar in 2005, following his graduation from the University of Melbourne in Australia with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. In his current role at Aldar, Al-Dhiyebi oversees the work of various departments, including urban planning, infrastructure, integrated technologies, design, transportation and project affairs.

Al-Dhiyebi also liaises with state agencies to ensure congruent urban redevelopment plans. These include the Urban Planning Council, Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Department of Transport, Education Council, Health Authority and Abu Dhabi Police.
