State-owned Office National de l'Electricite awarded the contract to Taqa.
The company will add two 350MW units to the plant, which is southwest of Casablanca.
Taqa already owns the first four phases of the IPP.
The power plant developer bought the 1,350MW Jorf Lasfar plant from the US' CMS Generation in 2007.
The first two 330MW units of the plant came online in 1994, while the third and fourth units began operating in 2000 and 2001 respectively.
Office National de l'Electricite buys the output from the plant under a 30-year agreement (MEED 31:3:09).
In March, Taqa announced it would invest $2.5bn in North Africa in 2009.
