The Tehran metro, Iran’s first, began operating in 2000. It has six lines, four of which are operational (lines 3, 4, 6 and 7).

This profile covers line 7 of the Tehran metro, which runs from Velenjak through Shahrak-e Qods to Afsareh in the capital. The main contractors for line 7 work are Khatam Al Anbiya and Sepasad Engineering Company.

Work includes the building of 30 kilometres or track, new tunnels, stations, rolling stock, and control systems.
