Tenders for the construction of a AED1.2bn ($327m) hotel and apartment complex planned by Kuwait’s Al-Osaimi Development & Real Estate on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai are expected to be issued in early 2009.

Enabling works are currently under way on the luxury hotel, and construction is expected to begin following the completion of the design, which is due in February 2009.

Construction work is expected to last 30 months.

The project will cover 288,000 square metres and will include an apartment building, watersports club, four restaurants, a spa, chalets and villas.

The Bahrain-based Projacs is the project manager on the work and the consultant is Lebanese-based Khatib & Alami.
