French oil major plans to start producing again from the Mabruk field by the end of 2011
France’s Total is planning to resume its Libyan onshore oil operations by the end of December.
A spokesman from the company told Reuters that certain logistical issues need to be solved, but when that happens onshore production can be restarted.
Total has about 60,000 barrels a day (b/d) of capacity in Libya. Its main offshore production area is the Al-Jurf field, with 41,000 b/d, and the onshore Mabruk field, which has a capacity of 19,000 b/d.
