The masterplan will cover the period from 2008-2030. The client is the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company. A meeting to launch the project will be held in the second half of February.
The project is funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. Under the $0.8m contract, Tractebel will identify the best long-term plan for the Egyptian electric power system to meet growing power demand.
The company will carry out the study in partnership with Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano. It has also sub-contracted the local Shaker Consultancy Group.
