Iranian contractor submits lowest bid for road project in Al-Dhahirah region
Oman’s Transport and Communications Ministry has received bids for a contract for works on the Ibri to Miskin road, located in the Al-Dhahirah region of Oman.
The ministry received bids from 12 contractors for the deal, which involves converting the road from Ibri to Miskin into dual-carriageway.
The low bidder is Iranian contractor Kayson with a price of OR36m ($95.5m). This is 7.5 per cent lower than the price of OR38.9m submitted by the second lowest bidder, the local/Austrian Strabag.
The local Galfar Engineering and Contracting submitted the third lowest bid with a price of OR39.1m.
