The General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works has invited prequalified firms to bid by 2 November for the turnkey contract to build the Torul dam and hydroelectric power plant.
Prequalified firms include:
The local Age with Russia's Litostroj and Croatia's Koncar
The local Ahmet Aydnez with China's Dong
The local Aydiner with the German/Swiss Sulzer Escher Wyss and Italy's Ansaldo Energia
The local Baytur and Ozdemir and Russia's Energomachexport
The local Dogus with Nissho Iwai Corporation and Hitachi Corporation, both of Japan
The local Nurol with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and France's Cegelec.
The project involves the construction of a 152-metre-high dam with an embankment volume of 1.3 million cubic metres of water. Electromechanical works will include the installation of two hydraulic turbines each with a capacity of 52.8 MW, and 154/13.8-kV power transformers.
