Bursa Municipality has shortlisted six consultants for a contract to provide design services and supervise construction of the first, $330 million stage of the city's metro, awarded in January to a venture led by Germany's Siemens (MEED 17:1:97). Six ventures have also been shortlisted by the municipality for design work to complete a ring road around the city.
The six ventures shortlisted for the metro consultancy are:
Canada's Delcan with the local Su Yapi
the UK's Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners with Lebanon's Dar al-Handasah
Germany's Light Rail Transit Consultants with DHM and Dogan Muhendislik
Germany's Lahmeyer International with UBM
Austria's Vienna Consulting Engineers with ACS
Germany's Obermeyer Planen, Beraten and Rail Consult with Optim Obermeyer Proje
The six ventures, mainly of foreign with local firms, shortlisted for the ring road consultancy are:
the US' Louis Berger International with MSG
Australia's SMEC
Dar al-Handasah with Dar Muhendislik
the UK's Owen Williams and Oscar Faber with Ulasim-ART and UBM
Obermeyer with Optim Obermeyer Proje
the UK's Hyder Consultants with Hyder Yapi and Su Yapi
The contract will call for the preparation of detailed feasibility and design studies, and bidding documents, for the completion of the ring road, including three interchanges, and improvement of the Yalova and Ankara roads including bus routes.
