TAV Gulf, part of Turkey’s TAV, has been awarded the estimated AED800m ($218m) contract to build the Marina 101 tower at Dubai Marina.

The 36-month contract involves the construction of a 101-floor hotel with a height of 412 metres and a total built-up area of 144,000 square metres.

The building's external facade will be predominately glass and will rise to a crown-like crystal structure on the upper floors.

The local Middle East Foundations is working on the foundations package. The local National Engineering Bureau is the consultant. Local property developer Sheffield Real Estate, in a joint venture with Russia's Rustar Real Estate, is the client (MEED 21:11:07).
