Dubai Municipality (DM) has awarded two road contracts totalling an estimated AED 268 million ($73 million). The local/ Cypriot National Wheel J&Phas an estimated AED 160 million ($44 million) contract to build a new dedicated access road to the proposed terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DIA). The local Wade Adams Contracting has been awarded an estimated AED 108 million ($29 million) contract to build a 30-kilometre dual carriageway connecting the Dubai-Al-Ain highway to the Khawaneej road.
J&P's 21-month contract covers the construction of an underground, 4.5-kilometre access road to the third terminal of DIA, seven underpasses, a second bridge near Dubai Cargo Village and related works. The consultant is the US' De Leuw Cather International.
Wade Adams' contract will take 14 months to complete. Besides the construction of the new dual carriageway, the contract also entails the construction of two bridges and access roads and links to Dubai Academic City. The consultant is Italy's Italconsult.
