Contractors submitted bids in August
Local developer Meraas has shortlisted two contractors for the contract to build Dubais AED500m ($136m) Museum of the Future.
The two shortlisted companies are the local Alec and Bam of the Netherlands.
Bids were submitted for the contract in August.
Set to open in 2017, the museum will be used to showcase cutting-edge technologies, and with the motto See the future, create the future, it has been designed to play a leading role in developing a culture of innovation in Dubai and the rest of the UAE. It will be built close to Emirates Towers and Dubai International Financial Centre.
When launched earlier this year, it was said that part of the structure will be 3D-printed rather than conventionally built.
Germanys Bauer is working on the foundations.
The consultants that have been engaged on the project include local firms Rice Perry Ellis and Killa Design as well as the UKs Buro Happold.
Data shows Dubai is regions dominant construction market

Dubai has become the regions dominant market for construction companies as the emirate prepares to host the 2020 Expo and activity in the rest of the region slows down in response to low oil prices.
According to data from regional projects tracker MEED Projects, Dubai accounted for 44 per cent of construction and transport contract awards in the GCC during the first half of this year. The total value of awards in the emirate was $13.6bn, up 56 per cent from the $8.8bn awarded during the first half of 2015 and up 54 per cent from the $8.8bn awarded in the second half of 2015.
