Firm has scooped two packages in the offshore oil field development in Abu Dhabi waters

The local National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has won a contract estimated to be worth $450m from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) for the Bu Haseer offshore oil field development.

The engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract is for packages 2, 3 and package 4 of the Bu Haseer project.

The scope of work for Bu Haseer packages 2 and 3 entails carrying out onshore brownfield works at Das island, and modification of water injection tie-ins on Zirku island, among other works.

Package 4 calls upon NPCC to install ESP modules, and carry out associated offshore brownfield work, apart from executing other associated work.

According to regional projects tracker MEED Projects, NPCC is expected to complete work on both the packages in June 2021.

The Bu Haseer oil field is located 155 kilometers northwest of Abu Dhabi and between 15 and 20 kilometres from the Das and Zirku islands.

Adnoc Offshore intends to double oil production from the Bu Haseer field from 8,000 barrels a-day (b/d) to 16,000 barrels a-day over the next few years.
