Solar company currently has more than 600MW of solar capacity installed or under development

UAE-based renewable energy company Enviromena Power Systems has been acquired by UK-based Arjun Infrastructure Partners (AIP).

Enviromena had been a portfolio company of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar). The renewables company was founded in 2007 and completed the Middle East’s first utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) solar plant, 10MW system at Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, in 2009.

The firm currently has 175MW of solar projects under operation, with a further 500MW of installations currently being deployed. The group has installed more than 17,000 solar installations over the past 10 years, and has the largest portfolio of rooftop solar projects in the GCC.

AIP is an independent infrastructure investment advisory firm which partners with institutional investors, mainly pension plans, to access direct infrastructure investments.

In 2015, Enviromena, in partnership with Spain’s TSK, was awarded a $128m contract to develop 103MW solar plant in the Al-Queira region of Jordan.
