The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has ruled out plans to stop BlackBerry smartphone services in the country, Zawya Dow Jones has reported. "We are studying all options to regulate the services...but we don't have plans to stop them," Mohammed Gheyath, executive director of Technology Development Affairs at the TRA told the Dubai-based Al Arabiya television. The UAE's telecoms regulator has said that the Blackberry, made by Canada's Research In Motion, operates beyond the jurisdiction of national legislation, and poses a risk to the country's national security.
