US firm to oversee Abu Dhabi sewage plans

US-based MWH has won a four-year contract to review sewerage and water treatment plants being constructed by commercial developers in Abu Dhabi.

In the preconstruction phase, MWH’s role in the project will be to co-ordinate design reviews with commercial developers and ensure the designs and tender documents comply with standards set by Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company.

During construction it will oversee the contractors’ activities to ensure they meet technical standards.

The total construction value of the plants exceeds AED500m ($136m). They include the project for sewerage and treatment works for Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone at Taweelah.
