The local Galfar Engineering & Contracting won the contract to build the vacuum sewer network on the Seeb coastal strip.
The company was low bidder at RO87m ($227m). The only other bid was submitted by a team of Egypt’s The Arab Contractors and the local National Construction & Trading.
A second contract was awarded for the construction of the Al-Mobellah gravity sewage collection and conveyance system in the Seeb area. The Arab Contractors with National Construction & Trading were the low bidders, submitting a price of RO58m ($151m). Bids were also submitted by Galfar and India’s Larsen & Toubro.
OWS is also currently evaluating bids for the design consultancy and supervision of the Al-Amerat wastewater project, which will include the construction of a 10,000-20,000 cubic metre a day sewage treatment plant.
