Dubai-based Metito has commissioned a wastewater treatment plant in Iraqs southern city of Kufa, in the Najaf governorate, with a capacity of 50,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d).
Metito will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for one year before handing over plant operation to the city of Kufa. The construction of the plant, worth $6.8m, was awarded to Metito in February 2013.
The client for the project is F&B Investment, which is overseeing the scheme to provide water treatment needs to the Najaf governorate.
