Cairo-based International Environmental Technology Company (Intech) is set to execute several greenfield and brownfield wastewater treatment projects in Egypt this year, the firm’s parent company Hassan Allam Holding said in a statement.
Contracts recently awarded to Intech include the construction of a new sewage treatment plant (STP) in Dar el-Salam, with the capacity to treat 90,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d), and another STP in Werdan with a capacity of 50,000 cm/d.
The remaining contracts involve rehabilitation works for four wastewater treatment plants as part of the extension of the firm’s original tertiary treatment plant projects in Egypt.
The contracts for the six projects entail full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works, Hassan Allam Holding said.
It is understood Intech aims to “commence several other projects” including the Mahmoudeya, Port Fouad, Damanhour, Tuna el-Gabal and Assiut wastewater treatment plants. The five plants will have a combined capacity of close to 200,000 cm/d.
It is unclear if the contracts for the five plants have been awarded.
In July, Hassan Allam Holding won an EPC contract to build a 400,000-cm/d water treatment plant in Sixth October City.
